Current trends in high performance computing are advancing towards the use of GPU to achieve speed-ups for linear algebra matrix operations common in CAE solvers. In recent years GPUs have been developed exclusively for computational tasks as massively-parallel co-processors to CPUs, and provide new HPC opportunities for industry application of CAE software from commercial vendors such as JMAG.

RT-LAB is the real-time simulator, developped by OPAL-RT.
We can use RT-LAB with JMAG-RT, to have more accurate results.

A&D’s motor HILS equipment provides a real-time simulator that improves motor control system development efficiency for hybrid cars (HV/PHV) and electric cares (EV). Motor models use parameter tables derived from JMAG analysis results to support PMSM models with spatial harmonics that recreate current harmonics.

We offer a wide variety of products to cover various motor applications, geometries, and properties, making use of powder control technology and our own unique processes. In addition, we have been actively involved in the resource problem since the early stage, and are reducing the usage of rare elements. Mass production of heavy rare earth element free NdFeB magnets, “NEOREC47HF” and development of rare earth element-free “FB-9RF” are planned for rare earth sintered magnets and ferrite magnets, respectively.

In order to simulate the motors used in Hybrid vehicle on HILS, the precise motor and inverter models must be calculated very fast. dSPACE applies the model based development method to FPGA and provides electric component library for FPGA (XSG EC Lib) to speed-up HIL setup. This HILS demo simulates the closed-loop motor system in real time with the detailed motor model (spatial harmonic model) on FPGA imported from JMAG.

Multiphysics require multiple physical expressions in order to capture the various behaviors appearing in real issues. Abaqus supports the implicit method, the explicit method, fluid analysis, and electromagnetic field analysis, which can solve a wide array of issues. Furthermore, Abaqus’ Co-simulation Engine (CSE) has an open communication platform to couple process of computation physics seamlessly, enabling multiphysics simulations between Abaqus or with other software. Since 2012, Abaqus uses this co-simulation engine with JMAG, allowing both one-way and two-way coupled analysis.

The controller has a built-in virtual motor supported by JMAG-RT that operates in real-time and is able to greatly reduce torque ripple. Sending torque command to the virtual motor inside the controller and controlled results to the actual motor as a current command allow significant reduction in torque ripple. It is also capable of current sensorless control.

With the growing complexity of systems in automotive area, integrating software, hardware, and mechanical components is becoming more and more challenging. Before actual implementation, system engineers today need to be able to validate the whole system behavior as early as possible in the development- cycle and at different abstraction levels. In contrast to a point-to-point solution, where one simulator is able to communicate with only one other simulator, CosiMate uses an open architecture based on a co-simulation bus.

SimulationX helps to simulate very wide range of physical systems, i.e. from mechanism identification of any phenomena to total system capabilities. JMAG RTT file can be imported into SimulationX and integrated with mechanic/hydraulic actuators. NewtonSuite MOR, Model Order Reduction, can connect eigen value analysis by FEM and SimulationX. Vibration characteristics can be easily and quickly simulated in SimulationX.
