In order to simulate the motors used in Hybrid vehicle on HILS, the precise motor and inverter models must be calculated very fast. dSPACE provides the customizable libraries for Simulink (ASM EC lib) and for FPGA (XSG EC Lib). This HILS demo simulates the closed-loop motor system in real time with the detailed motor model (spatial harmonic model) on FPGA imported from JMAG.

A&D’s motor HILS equipment provides a real-time simulator that improves motor control system development efficiency for hybrid cars (HV/PHV) and electric cares (EV). Motor models use parameter tables derived from JMAG analysis results to support PMSM models with spatial harmonics that recreate current harmonics.

The development of EV (Electric Vehicle) or HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) today must support multiple domains – power electronics, software, controller, mechanical, etc. and the most important aspect is the verification of interaction between motor models and other components. We exhibit how Mentor Graphics multi-domain simulator, SystemVision® and JMAG-RT are collaborated to integrate various abstraction levels.

We quickly adopted an active response to resource problems and have cut our use of scarce elements. When it comes to rare earth sintered magnets, we have started mass production of the heavy rare-earth element-free NdFeB magnet, NEOREC47HF, and are developing the rare earth element-free ferrite magnet, FB-9RF.

ETAS LABCAR is the high-end hardware-in-the-loop test environment for all automotive applications. The system is used for closed-loop tests of motor controllers of electric or hybrid electric vehicles. Therefore, the motor controller is connected to the ETAS open and flexible FPGA board which contains a high fidelity inverter and spatial harmonics JMAG-RT model.

High-speed and high-precision motor simulation is feasible by embedding JMAG-RT motor model on FPGA platform using NI LabVIEW software. In implementing a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system of synchronous motor such as PSMS, it is highly required to consider the influences of spatial harmonic caused by high speed rotation, magnetic saturation or physical temperature dependancy on motor behavior. By running JMAG-RT model on the FPGA DRAM, users can attain the simulation environment which is fairly close to the actual motor execution environment.

GT-SUITE, a comprehensive automobile simulation platform GT-SUITE, the de-factor standard for CAE in the automotive industry, can be coupled with JMAG. Read a JMAG-RT model (RTT file) into GT-SUITE and its built-in solver enables coupling calculations and it can also read motor maps including temperature characteristics provided by JMAG.
This enables heat management calculations of the system including the motor at high-accuracy and high-speed.

modeFRONTIER is a software that couples with a variety of other software, including JMAG, for automation and optimization. Many JMAG users also use modeFRONTIER because it can understand the trade-off between torque and magnet weight.

Current trends in high performance computing are advancing towards the use of GPU to achieve speed-ups for linear algebra matrix operations common in CAE solvers. In recent years GPUs have been developed exclusively for computational tasks as massively-parallel co-processors to CPUs, and provide new HPC opportunities for industry application of CAE software from commercial vendors such as JMAG.

We introduce HPC latest information for the large scale CAE of the Fujitsu. Fujitsu PC Cluster made improvements at the PC server PRIMERGY including Intel® Xeon® E5-2600v2 which will be released in autumn this year.Also we introduce of the STAR-CCM+ performance validation on the latest PC cluster. We can provide the “TC Cloud” which can be used for HPC environment on demand for CAE. You can apply the simulation needs which is limited to your computer resource by using our TC cloud.

We will show simulation software “PSIM” which can link with JMAG, and Co-simulation platform “CosiMate” which can link with AMESim, GT-SUITE, Saber, C, FMI etc. at our exhibition booth.
