In order to simulate the motors used in Hybrid vehicle on HILS, the precise motor and inverter models must be calculated very fast. dSPACE provides the customizable libraries for Simulink (ASM EC lib) and for FPGA (XSG EC Lib). This HILS demo simulates the closed-loop motor system in real time with the detailed motor model (spatial harmonic model) on FPGA imported from JMAG.

High-speed and high-precision motor simulation is feasible by embedding JMAG-RT motor model on FPGA platform using NI LabVIEW software. In implementing a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system of synchronous motor such as PSMS, it is highly required to consider the influences of spatial harmonic caused by high speed rotation, magnetic saturation or physical temperature dependancy on motor behavior. By running JMAG-RT model on the FPGA DRAM, users can attain the simulation environment which is fairly close to the actual motor execution environment.
