We register these SMC’s data for electromagnetic design to JMAG for the first time. Please utilize it.

In addition to multi-objective, driving torque and core losses, shape optimization of an IPM motor by using JMAG, we introduce simultaneous optimization focusing on electricity consumptions and target velocity followability in JC08 driving cycle of an EV system.

modeFRONTIER is the software that realizes automation / optimization by linking with various software such as JMAG. Optimization flow can be easily structured as it is equipped with the direct interface, “JMAG Node” by default. Auto-search with the latest optimization algorithm allows the handling of “trade-off relationships with torque and magnet weight,” and may help in achieving revolutionary results that could not be obtained with empirical methods.

We will introduce each study case of (1) noise reduction evaluation by means of electromagnetic field-vibration-acoustic analysis using structural analysis software MSC Nastran and acoustic analysis software Actran, (2) evaluation of heat dissipation of thermal fluid-structural coupled analysis using MSC Nastran, and (3) performance evaluation for real-world motor implementation (electromagnetic field analysis, control analysis, and mechanism analysis) using Adams mechanism analysis software.

In order to simulate the motors used in Hybrid vehicle on HILS, the precise motor and inverter models must be calculated very fast. dSPACE applies the model based development method to FPGA and provides electric component library for FPGA (XSG EC Lib) to speed-up HIL setup. This HILS demo simulates the closed-loop motor system in real time with the detailed motor model (spatial harmonic model) on FPGA imported from JMAG.

The development of EV (Electric Vehicle) or HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) today must support multiple design domains – power electronics, software, controller, mechanical, etc. and the most important aspect is the verification of interaction between motor models and other components. We exhibit how Mentor Graphics multi-domain simulator, SystemVision® and JMAG-RT are collaborated to integrate various abstraction levels.

PSIM is a circuit simulator developed for power electronics and motor control. With its high-speed simulation, easy to use interface, and waveform analysis functions, PSIM offers a powerful simulation environment for power electronics analysis as well as the research of control circuit design, inverters, and motor drive.

RT-LAB is the real-time simulator, developped by OPAL-RT.
We can use RT-LAB with JMAG-RT, to have more accurate results.

SimulationX helps to simulate very wide range of physical systems, i.e. from mechanism identification of any phenomena to total system capabilities. JMAG RTT file can be imported into SimulationX and integrated with mechanic/hydraulic actuators. NewtonSuite MOR, Model Order Reduction, can connect eigen value analysis by FEM and SimulationX. Vibration characteristics can be easily and quickly simulated in SimulationX.

Passing through a certain type of energy supplying mechanism, such as (plugged-in) battery, generator, fuel cell, etc., the Win-or-lose of EDV (Electric Drive Vehicle) will be finally determined by the performance of the motor drive. Optimization must be carried out as an integrated system including such energy supplying methods. Moreover, in HEVs, integration should include combustion engine system, to which JMAG-RT models for solenoids contribute though physical controlling. SaberRD, the system level simulator environment that exhibits characteristics of Multi-physics, mixed-signal, variable abstraction-level, and variation/fault-awareness, addresses any design issues in these situations.

Fe-Cr-Co magnets have features of rare earth free, high magnetic flux density and excellent temperature stability. We have developed HBr_Fe – Cr – Co magnet with high residual magnetic flux density over Nd magnet.
In addition, we manufacture various soft magnetic powders that are most suitable for inductors used at high frequencies. It contributes to reduction of core loss of electronic parts.

NEC TOKIN has added “LM-32SH” as a new high performance SmCo magnet material. “LM-32SH” is super high heat resistance magnet without demagnetized even at 200℃, as well as it shows higher magnetic force compared with existing materials. This feature contributes downsizing or improving performance to various devices operated under high temperature (e.g. Automotive sensors, Ignition coil, etc..)

Shin-Etsu Chemical is engaged in the manufacture of these magnets from the rare earth raw materials. Furthermore, Shin-Etsu is reliably supplying high-quality rare earth magnets with highly advanced features by its own grain boundary diffusion method, which reduces the amount of rare earth used, while keeping the high performance level of the magnets.

We offer products covering various motor applications, geometries, and properties, making use of powder control technology and our own unique process technology. Our Dy-free NdFeB magnet series for neodymium magnets lineup contributes to our mission to decrease the use of rare elements used in magnets. The new NEWOREC62 series, which employs the heavy rare earth saving HAL method, has also been added to our lineup.
For our ferrite magnets, we have the LaCo replaceable type high-performance ferrite magnet FB12 series in our lineup.
