This will include initiatives in optimization as well as design automation, and in addition to GA-based topology optimization which has been released in the previous year, we introduce a density method for topology optimization that can obtain results in a way that is both quicker and easier.

For the support of MBD which was become increasingly important in recent years, we are continuing to make progress in enhancements to efficiency map feature as well as JMAG-RT itself. JMAG-Express Online will also be capable of generating efficiency maps, which will enable a more detailed verification of motor characteristics from upper hierarchy processes.

This new JMAG aims to improve both accuracy and ease of use. The newly introduced GUI “Analysis Parameter View” will enable users to check the lists of all parameters for analysis models, as well as direct access to each parameter, leading to considerable increases efficiency within analysis work.

A new software interface between JMAG and Romax software has been developed to simplify the data transfer between electromagnetic and NVH analysis as part of an end-to-end analysis process.
Using this interface, we will demonstrate a case study to show that optimizing the motor based only on electromagnetic analysis may not be sufficient to fully understand the NVH performance of a closely-integrated EV drivetrain, and therefore that a CAE-led design approach is necessary to avoid potentially risks in the design process.
