The Foundation for Computational Science (FOCUS) was established with the support of Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe City, and the local business community following the birth of the K computer, and supports the industrial use of supercomputers including FUGAKU, the successor to the K computer at present.
The FOCUS supercomputer operated by FOCUS for industrial use, has features such as “simplified procedures” “speedy account issuance” and “easy-to-understand fee structure” and the highest annual user number record is renewed for 10 consecutive years since 1st operation year, with the total number of users exceeding 370 corporations.
We provided Fujitsu’s PRIME HPC FX700, which can be used for preparation of FUGAKU use, in April 2020 and the latest system capable of large scale parallel computing in September 2021.

Particleworks is a CFD simulation software for evaluating the behavior of liquids with large scale deformation, such as water and oil. It specializes in the analysis of free surface and incompressible fluids with large scale deformation and is used in the analysis of fluid problems in a wide range of fields such as transmission and engine lubrication, motor cooling, flooded road running, agitation and mixing of chemicals, resins, food, etc., as well as sediment disasters and flooding.
Particleworks uses MPS, the Moving Particle Simulation Method, which does not require meshing of the computational domain as in the FDM, FVM, and FEM, and uses particles that can be moved based on the calculation results as computational points. Therefore, once CAD geometry data is imported, you can immediately move on to pre-processing for setting analysis conditions, significantly reducing simulation time and man-hours. It enables efficient analysis of gas-liquid two-phase flows.

Introducing “EV-Sim HELIOS Edition”, a simulator for electric vehicles that combines TTDC’s high-speed computing technology and A&D’s HILS system.
As a large-scale simulator for vehicles, it is possible to simulate large-scale models in real time, contributing to shortening the development period of electric vehicles.
Feature 1: Parallel computing of vehicle models with a large-capacity FPGA (*) on HILS.

Currently, radial motors using laminated steel sheets are the mainstream for motors, but the needs for automotive applications, miniaturization and higher output are increasing. For these trends, we have demonstrated that axial gap motors with soft magnetic powder cores (SMCs) are effective for thinning and high power output for radial motors of the same size.
In addition, we have developed SMC’s modeling technique and practical technologies effective for application to motors. In this conference, we will introduce the latest developments.

Due to increase in complexity of products and shortening of product development cycles, an alternative design optimization approach is required for multi-disciplinary systems.
Cybernet Systems introduces an example of optimal design using Optimus as a platform. For example, multi-objective shape optimization of IPM motor, optimization of EV system that combines 1D and 3D, and motor noise optimization considering manufacturing error.

The FPGA Workbench and SIMulation Workbench provided by Concurrent Real-Time make it easy to build a HILS environment in which the JMAG-RT motor model runs on the FPGA.
