Comparing Thermal Circuit Modeling with Experimental Result for an Axial Gap Motor
[L-MU-169] Comparing Thermal Circuit Modeling with Experimental Result for an Axial Gap Motor
With the incessant drive to seek better performance and power density, the thermal design of machines becomes increasingly important. Because excessive heat l reduces the expected performance of components, or worse the failure, damage and burning of parts, thermal analysis requires high accuracy. However, during the design phase, time is limited, which requires minimizing computational costs. Therefore, JMAG proposes a thermal circuit model (1D) to solve a thermal analysis with speed and accuracy.
Comparison of a thermal circuit model with experimental results has been performed in this leaflet. In the thermal circuit, thermal characteristics of each parts are modelled by a thermally equivalent components, and the whole model is constructed by placing thermal resistance between each components.
