Abstract
We are developing a fully superconducting actuator with primary windings wound of Bi2223/Ag sheathed tapes and a thruster made of YBCO bulks. We made a model actuator with a single primary winding coil and a thruster with a square bulk to study basic thrust force characteristics. In the paper, experimental results are shown and compared with analytical results calculated by use of the finite-element method. Feasibility of the fully HTS linear actuator is discussed based on the experimental and analytical results.
