Simulation of acoustic noise induced by electromagnetic forces in claw-pole alternators

Abstract

This presentation deals with the method to calculate the magnetic forces in JMAG in order to determine the vibro-acoustic response of a claw-pole alternator. Due to the special geometry of claw-pole machines, 3D calculations in JMAG are required. The magnetic forces are then transferred to LMS Virtual Lab for vibro-acoustic simulation. Some simulation results are presented and compared with measurements.
