Special Feature: Wound Field Synchronous Motor

Wound-field and electrically-excited synchronous motors (WFSM/EESM) are given attention as traction motor that requires high efficiency in a wide operating range. Although high efficiency can be expected in the low torque range compared to permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), there are specific issues in the design process, such as cooling measures due to the increase in losses, and controls that also take into account the field.

JMAG enables the design and verification of WFSM/EESM even by considering the aforementioned design issues.

The special feature page summarizing Wound Field Synchronous Motor includes related materials, related data, and user case studies.

We have updated our site introducing case studies of linked analysis.
In recent years, the sophistication of electrical equipment design is required. As known there is a limit to the design of magnetic circuits alone, therefore multifaceted evaluations such as structure, vibration, heat, and control are required at the same time.It is more efficient to perform coupled analysis by linking different software where they have their own strength in the respective physical phenomenon rather than to adhere to one CAE software.
