Overview
Product development requires engineers evaluate a wide variety of geometry for designs.
JMAG-Express can simulate both the geometry registered in the software as well as custom user geometry created in CAD software as part of the motor design process. The type of motor to design determines the type of geometry data necessary to run evaluations in JMAG-Express. Radial gap motors, also known as radial flux motors, require two-dimensional geometry data. Axial gap motors, also known as axial flux motors, require three-dimensional geometry data.
This tutorial describes the procedures to evaluate radial gap motor performance in JMAG-Express using custom two-dimensional geometry data created in an external CAD software.
