Overview
The computational load significantly increases when modeling and analyzing an entire PM motor or other machine to obtain the eddy current losses in permanent magnets.
Eddy current analyses in JMAG can reduce the computation load at each stage of multi-stage simulations. These zooming analyses evaluate global models in the initial stage, and then isolate and obtain the eddy current losses for only the local models in the secondary stage.
This tutorial describes the procedures to run a multi-stage analysis using the vector potential boundary condition to obtain the eddy current losses.
