Magnetic Printing Simulation for Hard Disk Drives by Using Finite Element Method

Abstract

A new finite element method taking recoil curve into consideration is developed and applied to magnetic printing siαmlation. Recoil curve is approximated by the original major loop, and introduction of the relaxation factor makes recoil curve accurate. Some properties of magnetic printing are investigated, such as (1) every magnetic printing pattern has suitable applied magnetic field intensity, and the influence of the field would be negligible when the master disk pattern is small, (2)the peak values of output signal are independent of the applied fields.
