Abstract
Recent progress of small and medium sized motors for household appliances or automobiles will be shown. The situation of these motors today should be called on the “evolution” stage. The improvement of performance has been done mainly by a design conventionally, though, the recent improvement comes from manufacturing, material and application oriented design. Such progress is changing the shape and the geometrical structure of motors. This progress expands an application area of motors. New application area is producing new motor technology.
