Due to enormous battery costs, the efficiency of electrical machines for Hybrid and Electrical Vehicles is of decisive importance, especially the copper losses arising in the widing are essential in respect of quantity and thermal behavior. Therefore, current displacement phenomena like skin and proximity effect should be taken into account. Depending on the used winding, winding-technology and location of the individual wires additional losses can result. The presentation will show an electrical machine, produced by Robert Bosch GmbH, for an electrical vehicle which is analyzed concerning the mentioned impacts.
