Abstract
Magnetic refrigerators require superconducting magnets to generate high magnetic fields, but measures to tackle the AC losses present a major challenge.
Analyses must model the superconducting coils to obtain the AC losses of magnetic refrigerators because the currents and magnetic fields of the superconducting coils vary due to the relative positions of the magnetic materials. This case study provides an overview and presents the results for the AC losses of superconducting magnets obtained using JMAG.
