Abstract

This presentation introduces a modular, segmented-core design approach for large wind turbine generators aimed at expanding the supply chain and promoting domestic offshore wind deployment. Modularization enables standardized components and distributed manufacturing, making local production feasible.
A 2MW-class vertical-axis generator model is analyzed using JMAG. The concept is validated through a 2D PM partial model, extended to a 3D deployable structure, and further refined with rotor design strategies targeting rare-earth-free solutions.
