The first time I saw the expression “p.u.” was in an examination paper on electric power-systems, when I was a student-apprentice. Fortunately it was the previous year’s paper, not the one I would face a few months later. The expression “p.u.” caught my eye. Up to that point I had become familiar with volts and amps; but the idea that voltages and currents could be measured in a common unit had not occurred to me. China Road Show 2024
