"Brush up on Motor Design!" Vol.73 has been released!

"Brush up on Motor Design!" by Prof. Miller, an authority on motor design is available on our website.
From beginners in motor design to experts in design and analysis, this content can be of reference to everyone.

The following webinars have been published this month.
You can view it not only in English but also in many languages!

[Vol.073] Inverter-fed machines
The 73rd seminar serves as the final session of the five-seminar series on synchronous machine analysis (Vol. 69–73). Focusing on “inverter-fed machines,” which are indispensable in modern design practice, it outlines a practical approach to analysis aligned with real-world operation, moving beyond classical analysis based on commercial power-driven systems. The seminar covers topics such as changes in the voltage waveform due to PWM control and the concept of space vectors.

In particular, it is crucial to examine how magnetic saturation and mutual saturation affect various parameters by combining finite element analysis (FEM) with phasor diagrams in order to ensure consistency with actual device behavior. This process offers perspectives directly relevant to design and analysis, including the use of Ld and Lq as well as the maximization of torque under inverter voltage constraints.
This seminar offers essential insights into how the theory covered throughout the series can be applied to real-world drive systems.
