Overview

It is important to reduce loss when increasing product efficiency. When including harmonic components in excitation currents in particular, loss is distributed throughout the center of an electromagnetic steel sheet due to the conductor skin effect, so it is useful to be able to capture and evaluate that distribution. In JMAG, it is possible to visualize the loss distribution of steel sheet thickness directions and the B-H loop of each part after calculating loss using a hysteresis model and lamination analysis functions.
In this document, the procedure for evaluating iron loss distribution for the thickness direction of steel sheets is presented.
