Overview

In understanding complex phenomena, it can sometimes be useful to confirm analysis results by focusing on specific frequency components. JMAG can convert the distribution obtained by transient analysis to the frequency domain (Fig. a, Table a)
This document describes a method for displaying filtered distribution amounts only in specific frequency components by using the frequency filter calculation function.

Table a Distribution analysis functions

Function name Characteristic
Fourier transform calculation
  • Converts time region results to frequency range.
  • Used when evaluating distributions at specific frequencies.
Frequency filter calculation
  • Extracts only specified frequency components from time regions and displays them back within time regions.
  • Used when evaluating distribution amounts at each time step including the positional relationships of parts for specific frequency components.
