Overview

Three-phase synchronous motors are driven with a three-phase AC, and current waveforms are defined by current amplitude and current phase. Conversely, there are circumstances where this can be considered a dq coordinate system that rotates in synchronization with the rotor when using current control. There is also demand to define the current as a dq axis current, which is DC. The conversion from 2 phase to 3 phase can be easily accomplished by using circuit control components with JMAG.
This document explains how to specify a dq axis current and drive a motor.
