Overview
The initial phase of motor design narrows down potential designs while varying the number of poles and slots. This stage in the design process determines the winding layout based on the rotating magnetic field produced by the estimated number of poles in the stator winding.
However, it is not practical to evaluate several thousand to tens of thousands of winding layouts for each and every design. JMAG provides a function to automatically set the winding layout based on the number of poles and slots.
This document describes this unique feature and the procedures to switch between several automatic winding schemes available in JMAG.
