Overview
In the early stages of motor design, JMAG's thermal analysis uses speed-priority mode steady-stated/transient-state analysis (2.5D) due to ease of modeling and short calculation times. This study type only evaluates the average and maximum temperature values of the parts, but as the design phase progresses, there is a demand to evaluate temperature distribution and hotspots.
JMAG offers a function that converts studies from speed-priority mode steady/transient-state analysis (2.5D) into 3D studies, allowing seamless transition to the next design phase after considering the initial design.
This tutorial describes how to convert speed-priority mode steady/transient-state analysis (2.5D) studies into 3D studies and evaluate temperature distributions.
