3-D Magnetic Field Analysis of Large Power Transformer Using Parallel Calculation

Yasuhisa Ito
Development Section, Transformer Design & Development Department, T&D Products Factory, T&D Business Unit, MEIDENSHA CORPORATION

Abstract

Magnetic field analysis is obviously important for studying and developing transformers because they are the equipment based on electromagnetic phenomena. With the development of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and computer technology in recent years, magnetic field analysis using a three-dimensional model of transformers has become possible to calculate in practical time. However it is still difficult to analysis large power transformers in practical time due to the large number of unknowns.
This presentation shows an example of magnetic field analysis in 3-D large power transformers. It is expected that the study and development of transformers will be efficient owing to the realization of the analysis in practical time.
