Optimum Design of Wireless Power Transfer Coils for EVs Calculated by JMAG

Abstract

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system for EV / PHV is under development as the International Standards will be issued. The shape of WPT coils have a great influence on the efficiency and receiving power of misalignment between primary and secondary coils. Optimum design of WPT coils reduces the capacity of WPT system control. However, the design is difficult that the parameters of a WPT coil shape are not treated as independent in coupling coefficient and efficiency. The presentation will be shown the examples of the optimum design of WPT coils for EV using gene analysis calculated by JMAG.
