Abstract

This case study introduces technologies to explore electronic power train designs during the product planning stage to realize the all-in-one process advocated by the Mazda Motor Corporation. The workflow combines methods to configure new motor models derived using the cross-section from motor specifications together with JMAG optimizations. We also examine the potential this workflow has in supporting decisions on designs during the initial development stage through examples visualizing the relationship between BEV performance, costs, and all-electric range.
