The “Advanced AC Drive Designs Using FEA to Achieve High Performance Control” seminar was held in the United States in Madison, Wisconsin. Corresponding with the “Dynamics and Control of AC Drives” seminar held by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, this seminar, hosted by the JSOL Corporation, discussed the fundamentals of motor and motor drive design as well as the cutting-edge solutions using FEA.
Dr. Keith W. Klontz, President of Advanced Motor Tech LLC, not only discussed theoretical approaches based on his vast experience, but also discussed the practical knowledge required for actual motor and drive design in addition to specific ways to utilize FEA.
Dr. Howard Li from Powersys and Yusaku Suzuki from the JSOL Corporation also provided a hands-on demonstration using JMAG and a circuit/control simulator to actively apply what was taught and offer an even deeper understanding of the material. At the reception arranged by David Cottini after the “Advanced AC Drive Designs Using FEA to Achieve High Performance Control” seminar, participants were able to meet others that attended while promising to make the next day’s seminar an even great success.
