The requirements for motor design are getting more advanced, satisfying torque ripple, line voltage limit, stress of core, as well as maximize the torque at low and high speeds. In order to meet such severe requirements, to consider combining the parameter optimization and the topology optimization can yield effective results.
JMAG-Designer supports both parameter optimization and topology optimization. Topology optimization can be performed using the JMAG model used in the design, and it will produce a design proposal with a new magnetic circuits.

Search for a shield shape that minimizes the magnetic flux density in the evaluation space, while keeping the shield to a minimum. Visibly on of the optimal idea is use of dual shields.
