To analyze an induction motor’s maximum efficiency, the voltage and slip is varied to find the combination with the highest efficiency. To produce an efficiency map, a search is repeated at each speed and load point in the operating region. Since the electrical conductivity of conductors used in coils and secondary conductors are temperature dependent, more computations are required to evaluate an efficiency map for each temperature.
JMAG-Designer can quickly produce an induction motor efficiency map. Many candidate designs can be evaluated while varying the geometry and temperature parametrically.
