Overview
Motor design conventionally sees a large number of general design proposals being investigated until they are narrowed down to prospective designs that satisfy requirements. An efficiency map is drawn for each motor design proposal in this narrowing-down process. Using efficiency maps to confirm possible drive regions and each operating point can be advantageous.
By accounting for 3D effects on 2D analysis results and replacing specific physical quantities with actual measured values, etc., such freely-made corrections to created efficiency maps can anticipate increases in their accuracy.
This document uses a JMAG-Designer efficiency map study (speed priority) to describe the method for correcting the response values of created efficiency maps with Python scripts.
