The Axial Air Gap Permanent Magnet Motor for Air Conditioners

Abstract

The axial air gap motor can supply the higher power than the radial air gap motor, if the diameter of Rotor D is large. Because the former power is proportional to D3, and the later is proportional to D2L. In this report, some outlines of the axial air gap permanent magnet motor for air conditioners are explained. Then its advantages and some problems are also discussed, comparing with the radial motor.
