Abstract
For many classes of EM problems, solving “only” the EM portion of the problem is not sufficient for the most accurate solutions-often additional physics must also be considered in order to be truly predictive. In particular, a number of interesting engineering problems may required structural computations that are beyond the capbility of JMAG to solve on its own. This talk discusses recent advances that allow users to couple the field physics of both JMAG and Abaqus, and discusses various engineering problems which can be solved through this collaboration. A user example of a cell phone speaker is demonstrated, with a focus on three-field coupling between electro-magnetic (Lorenz) forces calculated with JMAG and the structural and acoustic regimes calculated within Abaqus.
