Optimization Design of IPMSM for Off-Highway Vehicle Using JMAG

Abstract

Traction motors for off-highway vehicles are required to have higher torque and lower vibrations compared to automotive applications. Specifications that satisfy high torque, low torque ripple as well as magnetic material reduction were examined by aid of JMAG magnetic field analysis and optimization function. The results of this examination will be reported and discussed.
