Loss Modelling for the Hyperloop Propulsion Motor

Alex Jedinger
Propulsion, Virgin Hyperloop One

Abstract

Developing a high speed, high power linear propulsion motor holds many challenges, one of them is the difficulty of testing such a motor. Virgin Hyperloop One is therefore employing a model based design approach, particularly for estimation of the motor losses. The presentation will introduce some of those unique challenges and illustrate how JMAG helps to overcome them.
