Abstract

Axial gap motors with thin and high output density are attracting attention, while electrification and energy saving are progressing in many applications. We have improved the performance of soft magnetic composites, SMC, and designed and demonstrated the performance of axial gap motors using them.
In this presentation, we will introduce the details of electromagnetic design examples and actual machine evaluation results of the axial gap motors’ efficiency map, and examples of iron loss considering the influence of harmonics. In addition, we will also introduce the latest development trends of SMCs that contribute to further improvement of motor performance.
