High Performance, Sustainable and Affordable Rare-Earth Free Electric Machines.

Abstract

Our planet, our people and bio-species, ALL need significant reduction of rare-earth magnets usage that are not sustainable for ALL. However, these rare-earth permanent magnets offer significant power, torque density and efficiency for electric machines, one of the main contributor to the Electrification that also reduces significantly global warming issues.

This dilemma can be solved with sound engineering and significant innovation. Through optimization tools within JMAG, YEESMA will present 2 case studies showing how to solve the trade-off between Sustainability, Cost and Packaging Constraints. These 2 applications are in the eMobility area, but the same solutions can be applied to Industrial or Renewable Energy sectors.
