Verification By Measuring and Analyzing Motor Gap Magnetic Flux Using Sheet State Search Coils

Hiroyuki Shintani
Engineering, ESTECH Corporation

Abstract

The magnetic flux of a motor gap during actual operation was measured using specially designed sheet state search coils (very thin magnetic flux sensors) and compared with a JMAG magnetic flux calculation.
As a result, it was confirmed that both matched accurately, and that this measurement method can be used to verify the accuracy of magnetic field analyses.
It was additionally confirmed that axial misalignment of the rotor and the swinging of the primary rotation, which can be an issue with vibration noise, can also be analyzed based on the magnetic flux measured using sheet state search coils.
