Abstract

In recent years, there has been a growing movement to electrify automobiles and aircraft in order to reduce their environmental load. Along with this, the performance required for the propulsion motors of automobiles and aircraft has increased dramatically. Therefore, although the performance of motors has been improved along with the remarkable development of material, analysis, and manufacturing technology, electrical motors having more and more higher performance are required. Therefore, this presentation introduces the technology and trends for achieving high efficiency and high power density in electrical motors used in traction and aircraft applications.
