Application of Automation of Design Utilizing Optimization to Traction Motor

Abstract

The automobile industry trend is toward energy saving and environmental load reduction, and the electrification of motor vehicles is progressing. Motor vehicles need to calculate characteristics in a wide range of operation because the required rotational speed and torque change depending on driving conditions such as low-speed driving, high-speed driving, hill driving, and rapid acceleration. Furthermore, many characteristics such as output power, efficiency, and torque ripple are in conflict with each other, and it is difficult to optimize manually.
In this presentation, the author introduce utilization example of range finder and power simulation licenses for traction motor design.
