[L-MO-90] Detailed Coil Modelling for Motors

Overview

Motors require higher power densities and lowered heights. This calls for high-fidelity simulations that make it possible to view the effects of the detailed geometry of a coil. In the newest version of JMAG, a new wire modeling function has been developed and coil template functions have been improved, which models coils with end sections included.
By using JMAG’s wire modeling function, wire models can be automatically generated, like filling a slot, simply by specifying the wire diameter, insulation film thickness, and number of coils for slot geometry and round wires. Because links with wire models are performed automatically, detailed loss distributions can be simulated even for coils with hundreds of turns.
