Abstract

The superconducting magnet is an equipment generating high magnetic field by carrying high current density through superconducting wire. It is more compact and lightweight than the normalconducting magnet. It is important to consider peak field, current density, cooling, and support structure for electromagnetic (EM) force in design of superconducting magnets. The EM field – thermal coupled analysis and the EM field – structure coupled analysis are required in these studies.
I will introduce thermal analysis for cooling member and structural analysis for radiation shield.
