Abstract

The multi-objective optimization of electrical machines is an increasingly important topic within the design process due to the typically large number of objectives and constraints given by requirements. The design process developed by IAV deals with the efficient solution of these large-scale optimization problems based on a specific DOE approach coupled with Kriging surrogate models using JMAG and MATLAB.
The presentation aims at providing an overview on typical optimization topics in the E-machine design process and introduces the methods currently in use. In addition, some JMAG-specific features that are used within the workflow are highlighted and discussed.
