Abstract

In the design of solenoid valves, which require high response and miniaturization, we have developed a method for “shape study” and “response evaluation” in simulation.
In the “shape study,” the best shape was obtained for all design parameters, including not only the shape but also coil parameters, by using design exploration software.
For the “response evaluation,” JMAG and 1D-CAE were coupled so that transient fluid forces could be taken into account.
First, the candidates were narrowed down using JMAG-RT, which emphasizes calculation speed, and then a coupled method with JMAG-Designer, which emphasizes accuracy, was used for the performance evaluation.
This “geometry study” and “response evaluation” method enabled high-quality development in a shorter lead time compared to the conventional development process.
