Currently, there is case where a flat shape is required for a motor in order to improve the added value of the system incorporating a motor. In this case, an axial gap motor has attracted attention. The axial gap motor of the flat shape can generate high torque because it is possible to increase the surface area of permanent magnet in the flat shape. It is important to achieve high efficiency in order to take advantage of the axial gap motor having such advantage. Therefore, it is explained with actual development cases that the aspect ratio of the axial gap motor has an impact on N-T characteristic and efficiency. Moreover, the method reducing the losses that occur in the axial gap motor is introduced with actual development cases to attain high torque and high output.
